Does The Country Cottage Kennel offer veterinary services ? No. The Country Cottage Kennel provides pet boarding and grooming services, not veterinary services.

What is your Cancellation Policy ?

Cancellation Policy

Weekends, Holidays and Summer Vacations are traditionally the busiest times for pet boarding.  During these times boarding is at capacity. Complicating capacity issues are last minute cancellations and last minute changes to reservations during these times. Last minute meaning those cancellations or changes within 7 days of arrival. For example, scheduling a Sunday evening pick-up then picking-up a day early on Saturday or scheduling a Saturday drop-off and last minute deciding to drop off the following Monday. Last minute availability is difficult to fill and generally results in unused space. Unused space is disappointing to those on waiting lists and is a major factor in driving up the cost of boarding.   

In an effort to alleviate booking issues and help control boarding costs, last minute cancellations and last minute changes to reservations over Weekends and Holidays will incur a Last Minute Cancellation Fee equal to 2 Nights of Boarding.  Repeated last minute cancellations will be requested to submit a $50.00 non-refundable deposit to hold future reservations.

The Country Cottage Kennel remains one of only a few boarding facilities throughout the tri-state which does not require a deposit to hold reservations. Our Philosophy has always been to keep things simple. With a 7 days notice for reservation changes there should be no reason to complicate the boarding process with deposits. Does The Country Cottage Kennel provide dog food or should I bring food for my pet?  We carry the main varities of the Iams products. If your pet is accustomed to a differect diet, please feel welcome to bring your pet's favorite food.

Does The Country Cottage Kennel provide Bedding for my pet ?  Yes, the Bedding we provide is mostly a flannel material. If you pack along your pet's favorite blanket, please make sure that it is washable and  labeled with your pet's name. 

May I bring along toys for my pet ? With so much activity during the day, many pets will ignore toys brought from home. Feel welcome to bring along a favorite toy or two for a sense of security. Please make sure that it is washable and  labeled with your pet's name. 

Is the kennel area heated and air conditioned ? Yes, all areas of our buildings are temperature controlled and properly ventilated. Pets experience added comfort in the winter as the kennel floors are warmed with radiant heat.

My dog has stitches, is it still O.K. to board ? No. The boarding environment is filled with high activity and lots of movement. A Pet with this type of special need is better suited to a less active environment until the stitches are removed.

Do you board diabetics ? No. A Pet with this type of special need is better suited to a veterinary environment.

Is there an age restriction for boarding my pet ? Young pets should be 5 months old with all puppy series vaccines completed. The boarding environment is a very active envirionment designed for healthy active pets. Older pets and pets with underlining medical concerns should only be boarded after careful consultation with your veterinarian. 

Does The Country Cottage Kennel provide cat food or should I bring food for my Pet ? We carry the main varities of the Iams products . If your pet is accustomed to a differect diet, please feel welcome to bring your pet's favorite food.

The Country Cottage Kennel supply food bowls, litter boxes and litter ? Yes, food bowls, litter boxes and litter are included in the cost of the boarding charges.

Is the Cattery heated and air conditioned ?  Yes, all areas of our buildings are temperature controlled and properly ventilated. 

Does The Country Cottage Kennel only groom dogs that are boarding in the kennel ? Appointments are gladly accepted for any pet whether they are being boarded or visiting for grooming only.

Are heated dryers used in your grooming facility ? No. Only forced air dryers are permitted in our grooming facility.

My dogs hair matts badly but I like her hair long not shaved. What can I do to reduce
this matting and  prevent her from needing to be shaved ? Brush, Comb, Brush Comb. Unfortunately some  breeds tend to have hair that matts very easily. Trying to "brush out" these matts can be uncomfortable and painful which leaves no other choice than to "shave down" the hair. The best line of defense to prevent matting is to brush and comb your pet frequently - often daily. Frequent brushing and combing will keep your pet comfortable and will give the groomer more options to provide your pet the haircut you desire.
